The Beginning

Let's take it back to the beginning real quick so that anyone who is just joining in can catch up fairly easy. In September of 2009 I found out I was expecting, which was sort of a surprise.  Not a surprise in the we weren't trying to conceive but a surprise because we were approaching the 2 year mark of trying, plus after a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks in Feb of 2009 I wasn't very optimistic about getting pregnant. It was a surprise and a blessing and Kaitlyn continues to be a blessing today.

My pregnancy progressed with quite a bit of morning sickness and fatigue while trying to keep up with  my new job I had just started.  There were a few stressful times of spotting and being at Labor & Delivery to keep a check on the little bean, plus an overnight stay later when I was sick with some stomach bug. I had to keep an eye on my blood pressure ( I suffer from high blood pressure) on top of not feeling well and was put on meds to keep it in check.  Let's not forget the routine blood work, rhogam shots and Dr appointments. Fun Times.

I was a little over 20 weeks before I actually started feeling better, shortly after my ultrasound. At the 20 week ultrasound, I was very nervous, worried something would be wrong with the baby. We were lucky enough to find out that we were expecting a baby girl, later affectionately known as Bebe' G (for Baby Girl). The ultrasound went seemingly well, the tech did not go get the Dr to talk to us or anything, which usually is a sign something is amiss. So I felt a bit of relief, but little did I know 20 weeks later that would all change.

The rest of my pregnancy went fairly well, made the decision to try for a vbac, but unfortunately it didn't work out.  I'll post her birth story again, so I am leaving the details out of this post. Kaitlyn made her appearance on May 8, 2010, the day before Mother's Day.

This is the day my life changed.
